The orphanage was established in April 2003 in Abidjan, Cote D’Ivoire, West Africa. We have fourteen children who live in the orphanage with 3 caregivers. The children who come into this orphanage are from the age of newborn to teenagers. When the children arrive they receive medical care, food and clothing. Our goal is to transition the children into families for adoption. Three additional children are presently in homes with families being monitored for permanent placement. The majority of the young children tend to be in critical condition upon entering the home. The preschoolers are taught at home then will attend public school for their primary education. The older children are home schooled because prior to coming to the orphanage they never had the opportunity to become educated. Life Skills such as computer training, pastry making, sewing, English, cooking, housekeeping and crocheting are being taught to the older children. Our Vision is to provide a loving Christian home for 100 children. We expect to establish a few homes in the country and a few homes in the city providing a safe, fun loving place for the children to be children, while teaching them a way of life that they never knew was possible. We have chosen to take a few children in and provide well for them rather than take many children in and not provide all their needs. As our support increases we will care for more children.

Here are a few testimonies of the transformation of the lives of our children. The children come to us a breath away from death and become healthy happy children living in a loving “family home”.

Shalom and Jonathan are sister and brother. They arrived at the orphanage in April 2006. Shalom was 4 years old and ill with Aids, diarrhea, wounds over her body and her skin was very dry. Her stomach was distended and there was very smelly “liquid” in her ears. Shalom cried a lot because she was in pain. Her hair would not grow. She is 7 years old now, takes medication for Aids and she is doing well. Shalom is a beautiful young girl in preschool and knows how to read and write.

Jonathan came to the orphanage when he was 2 years old and he had the same symptoms, including Aids, as Shalom. Jonathan couldn’t walk because the muscles of his legs had atrophied and the doctor said that he would never walk. Jonathan was very slim and had tooth decay. Since then, Jonathan began walking at age 3. Now he is 4 1/2 years old, takes medicines and likes to run and play soccer. He is in preschool learning to read and write.

In September 2006, Jean Marc came to us at the age of 4. Jean Marc was traumatized by living with a mentally ill mother in the street. He was a violent boy always hitting other kids. Jean Marc had extreme tooth decay, malnutrition, and he was used to picking up anything from the floor and eating it. We take him to the dentist on a regular basis to receive dental care. He is now 6 years old and is in preschool learning how to read and write.
